Lyane Leigh and American-born Raz-Ma-Taz (Richard Allen Smith) were original members of the group E-Rotic, which started in 1994 and recorded throughout the rest of the 1990s. By June 1996, Leigh and Raz-Ma-Taz left due to a disagreement between Leigh and producer David Brandes, leaving E-Rotic composed of Jeanette Christensen and Terence d'Arby (not to be confused with Terence Trent D'Arby). Lyane Leigh continued to provide vocal work for several albums until 1999 due to her contract
After leaving "E-Rotic" Lyane and Raz-Ma-Taz formed their own group (S.E.X. Appeal). Their first single was "Voulez-vous coucher avec moi" presented in the Disco Club "Fun" in München, Germany in 1996. The single was a hit, popular around Europe. It was song #18 in the Austrian charts for 10 weeks.
In 1997 Richard Allen Smith (Raz-Ma-Taz) left S.E.X. Appeal to join the group Magic Affair. Months later singer-entertainer Gino Gillian joined the group as Leigh's partner and they released S.E.X. Appeal's second single: "Life goes up, life goes down" produced by Lyane Leigh and her brother, Thijs. In February 1998 their third single; "Dirty talk" was released by German label Jupiter Records. Six months later the fourth single was released: "Sex is a thrill with the pill".
With her brother Thijs, Lyane Leigh established the "3H Music Production" company that specialized in music production (main point: pop and dance music), remixing and artists management. The first single under sister-brother management, "Hanky Spanky", was released by the 3H Music Production label in July 1999 followed by "Manga maniac", both songs reminiscent of the E-Rotic innuendo sound.
After releasing "Manga maniac", Gillian left the group and Lyane continued with S.E.X. Appeal as a single vocalist project with the release of the S.E.X. Appeal's first album "Peeping Tom".
The next S.E.X. Appeal singles were "Do you love me" (2004), "Fragile love" (2006), "Let me feel your sexappeal" (2007), "Sensuality" (2007), "Voodoo queen" (2008) (from Sensuality - The Remix Album) and "Love 2 love" (2009) from their second studio album "Sensuality", released in October 2007, which presented a more Hands-up sound instead of the eurodance sound heard on the previous album and singles.
In 2010, S.E.X. Appeal released two singles: "Sex on the phone", a cover version of E-Rotic, where Leigh was the bands' original singer, and "Gimme (Safer Sex)", a collaboration with the former Mr. President rapper LayZee. Two albums were also released: the mini-album Reflections and Peeping Tom Reloaded.
